How are we able to sell such high quality jewellery at such competitive prices?

As we are essentially an online company, we do not have the same overheads as retail jewellers and can therefore pass these savings onto our customers. Our buyers also have a minimum of seven years experience within the trade, enabling them to source the best quality stones and metals for the lowest prices.

Where do we get our diamonds from and are they conflict free?

We can assure you that all diamonds sold by Bespoke Diamonds are conflict free. We have an active ethical diamond policy which involves all suppliers of loose diamonds to us must be signed up and adhere to the UN resolution on conflict diamonds (The Kimberley Process).

The Kimberley Process is designed to stop the sale of illicit rough diamonds funding conflicts in Africa and elsewhere being sold into the jewellery diamond market mainly in the west. The way this is done is the rough diamonds mined from legitimate sources are packaged in a tamper proof box together with a certificate of provenance and contents are then exported to reputable diamond cutters in Antwerp or Mumbai etc. These companies will then check package and contents before cutting the legitimate diamonds. Any abnormalities would be refused and reported the World Diamond Council and the UN. The cut diamonds are then sold to companies like ourselves with invoices stating, by law, that the diamond herein are guaranteed conflict free. We then certificate the diamonds independently (GIA or IGI) for qualities and when we sell diamonds/jewellery we also state this on our invoices for our customers' peace of mind. All our supplier invoices are available for you to see if required.

We did think about using only Canadian diamonds at one time to totally distance ourselves from conflict diamonds but realised, after deliberation, the good that legitimate diamond trading does for the continent of Africa and let's face it North America hardly needs our trade. As one of its major resources, diamonds are helping transform Africa and the lives of its people. Diamonds and diamond revenues are making a difference in Africa by providing jobs, building hospitals and roads and funding education.

We are also in the process of making all our gold and platinum suppliers give us the same assurances of the provenance of their goods as we feel this is just as important as diamonds.
